What Is Emotional Releasing?

What if you don’t need to think your way out of how you feel?

You can know that a fear is irrational. Know that the past is over. Know what you need to do.

And still feel exactly the same.

Emotional releasing gives you a way to work directly with the feeling underneath the thought, reaction, or resistance.

As that feeling releases, something that used to trigger you can begin to feel different. The thought comes up without pulling you into it. The situation may be the same, but your experience of it has changed.

You don’t have to take my word for it. Experience it for yourself.

You may already know the pattern

You know you shouldn’t care so much what they think.

But you still feel the anxiety when you walk into the room.

You know the conversation happened years ago.

But remembering it still brings the feeling back.

You know what you need to do.

But something in you keeps avoiding it.

You’ve analyzed the problem a hundred times.

But understanding it hasn’t made the feeling disappear.

Understanding can be useful. Sometimes the next step is learning how to work with what you still feel.

What if the feeling itself is the place to work?

Emotional releasing is a practice of bringing awareness to an unwanted feeling and learning how to allow and work with it so that its emotional charge can soften or release.

By “emotional charge,” I mean the felt intensity or pull connected to a thought, memory, or situation. The sting when you remember what someone said. The dread when you think about a task. The fear that makes an ordinary interaction feel difficult.

Instead of immediately pushing the feeling away, you learn to meet it directly. Depending on the approach, that may involve allowing the feeling, tapping while bringing it to mind, or working with the resistance around it.

The familiar questions

“How do I get rid of this feeling?”

“How do I stop myself from feeling this?”

A different starting point

“What is this feeling actually connected to?”

“Can I work with that charge until it runs out?”

You can begin with one manageable feeling. You don’t have to explain every detail of your past or solve your whole life at once.

What can a release feel like?

Sometimes it is subtle. A little less tension. More space around a thought. A feeling that becomes easier to be with.

Sometimes the change is unmistakable:

The feeling runs out.
The feeling disappears.

That can happen with a particular emotional charge. Other times, you notice a gradual softening or discover another layer to work with.

Imagine:

  • The Sunday-night dread loosening its grip.
  • The conversation you have been avoiding for months beginning to feel workable.
  • A goal you have circled for years feeling easier to begin.
  • The old memory that still stings losing its charge when it surfaces.

The meaningful question is what changes in your own experience when you return to the same thought or situation.

See what emotional releasing can help with.

Try it. Then notice what changes.

You don’t need to adopt a philosophy or understand every explanation before you begin. Start with a feeling you can comfortably bring to mind, and pay attention to your experience.

  1. Choose something specific. A manageable worry, a recent frustration, or resistance around a task.
  2. Notice how it feels before you begin. What happens internally when you think about it?
  3. Follow the guided release, then check again. Bring the same situation to mind and notice whether the feeling has changed.

A simple beginning, with room to go deeper

Golden Mind Method brings together several ways of working with emotions, including direct allowing and letting go, tapping-based methods, and deeper practices for people who want to explore further.

Some people connect naturally with allowing a feeling to be present. Others find tapping gives them a more tangible way to work with it. Having more than one approach gives us room to find what makes sense for you.

You can begin without mastering every technique or adopting a particular belief system.

The free guided release is a starting point. There is much more to learn as you become familiar with the process.

Sean Golden, founder of Golden Mind Method.

Hi, I’m Sean.

For years, I struggled with social anxiety. I could understand why I felt the way I did, read another book, and learn another perspective. But ordinary interactions still brought up the same fear.

My background in mathematics and physics made me skeptical of anything I couldn’t test for myself. When I discovered tapping and emotional releasing, what caught my attention was the change I could actually feel. Situations that used to flood me with anxiety began to feel easier.

I spent years studying, practicing, and comparing different approaches, and began using what I learned with other people. Golden Mind Method grew out of that exploration.

Today, I teach practical releasing skills and guide people through the process one-on-one. I want you to experience a change for yourself and learn tools you can keep using in your own life. I hold an EFT Diploma with Distinction from the Centre of Excellence.

The bigger possibility

Most people begin with one specific problem: “How do I stop feeling this way about this particular thing?”

That is a perfectly good place to start. But after you experience an emotional pattern changing, a bigger question can begin to open up:

How internally free can I actually become?

What would it be like to carry less fear into your relationships? Less resistance into your work? Less of the past into the present?

As you become familiar with releasing, you can explore the same skills in other parts of your life. One feeling becomes a place to begin learning a different way of meeting what you carry.

Emotional releasing is about becoming less burdened by the patterns that have been running your life, so you have more freedom to think, respond, and live in ways that feel true to you.

Begin with one feeling

You don’t need to figure everything out before you begin. Choose the next step that feels right for you.
